Michael Harris is a Research Fellow at the Melbourne Institute where his principal activities include the Enterprise Dynamics research program and the Social Indicators research program. He has worked at the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics in Canberra, and has been Lecturer in Agricultural Economics at the University of Melbourne. He also held a visiting position at the University of California during 1995, and is a past President of the Victorian Branch of the Australian Agricultural and Resource Economics Society. He has published a number of journal articles and working papers on issues such as agricultural research; industrial innovation and knowledge spillovers; copyright policy and CD pricing; public perceptions of 'economic rationalism'; and natural resource accounting in journals such as the Australian Economic Review, Economic Papers, Quarterly Review of the Rural Economy and the Australian Journal of Agricultural Economics.
