NOTE: This is the "ANALYTIC DATA" file, which is best for most purposes. There is also a "RAW DATA" file which has unrecoded data, in case you want that. Go  back to the previous page and read a few paragraphs back for details on that.

Step 1: Register

Step 2: Download the data

This  file work3.zip contains the data -- just click and your browser will ask you about it (choose "save file" when it asks you what to do):   [ Download now: I agree to the conditions of use ].

The file  is about 1.1 mb. (If your browser renames it, just change the name back.)

Step 3: Uncompress the data and check that all is OK.

This file is compressed in "ZIP" format -- there are lots of free "un-zip" programs on the internet if you don't already have one.

After you decompress it you will have file "Work3.POR" (about 6 mb). This is an SPSS "portable" (or "export") file. It should run on any standard SPSS system, including both PCs and mainframes. Many other standard statistical programs can import files of this type. There are also programs to convert it to a wide variety of other systems; we ourselves like Stat/Transfer for that.

As a check to be sure all is OK, your data should match this:
